What is a Friendship Flame?
A Friendship Flame is a decorative oil lamp, thought to symbolize the warmth of lasting friendship. While the colours are impressive even when the lamp is not lit, they really shine when there's a delicate flame burning on top.
Each Friendship Flame is handblown in our Merrickville, Ontario glassblowing studio, complete with our signature glass strands on the inside, adding extra interest.
How often do you have to replace the wick?
Generally, you don't replace the wick! Our wicks are made of fibreglass and will last for years. They pull the oil up from the lamp and the oil burns instead of the wick.
How long will the oil last?
A full lamp will burn for approximately 45 to 60 hours. Exact burn times vary depending on the size of the lamp and the size of your flame. (TIP: Leave as little wick as possible at the top of your lamp for a sizeable yet stable flame that uses less oil.)
Where can I get the oil?
We sell high quality paraffin oil in our gallery and customers often stock up once or twice a year when they stop by. Unfortunately we can not ship the oil, however you can also find paraffin oil online or in some hardware stores.
